FHRA Summer Nationals at Kalajoki's Air Field 1/8 mile

There was one slightly better sixty foot time, but the best first day's result was...

60' 1.322 sec

1/8 mile 6.044 sec / 178 /111mph

...and every pushrods are still in right place.

It gets faster in day after day. A higher stall converter was a good choice. Next thing is probably that the Rev limiter must be nearer 7k than 6k at 1/4 mile.

Sounds like you are on the right path. Creeping up on 9's and beyond? What did you do different on the push rods or did the new set fit properly? It will be a real blast once you get it ironed out. Congratulations! Chuck

Y's guys rule!

Like Brother Seppo said couple posts ago. - "Old balls are better than the younger ones."

"Ted, we changed the balls of the Harland Sharps to older stock ones as the old ones are narrower at the ball and they fit better to our now Elgin push rods. The thread is the same and we used those new lock nuts. I sure hope that solves the problem."

I've also been experiencing ball problems! Got everything back together with no pushrod issues and quite a bit of thrashing this afternoon.

What's next for you guys?

My name is Greg and I am addicted to Y's.

We lost at the first round of the eliminator and the time was really bad 6.558. Jyrki messed out something at the line and didn't get the boost to desired level. But, that's racing Smile. Next race will be more familiar Motopark Raceway 1/4 mile race in August.

I'll do a short video of this weekend after good 6 hour sleep and a working day tomorrow...

Slow motion from Kalajoki Summer Nationals. Slow motion is good when observing how the chassis works. There is a small wheel spin in one run and you really can't see that in full speed catch Tongue.

Tomorrow we will head on to Motopark Raceway to try to break our records Smile. We now have a stage limiter working and it's set to 4000 rpm to get more accurate starts all day. Also, we put the rev limiter to 7000 rpm to get more trap speed. We'll see how that works... And if those won't help, we still have that turbo boost knob to turn it to open position BigGrin. Also wwe now have our laptop connected to Megasquirt to collect all possible information about the runs.

Also we now have the so called convenience package aka seat upholstery onboard BigGrin. Last time we were racing, the tech insisted that we should have the seat covered at the next race, so we now have.

And also set of Autolite AR32 spark plugs are among other service stuff. Ready to race!
