Hooray. I got a new rear seal installed. I picked up the truck tonight. A mechanic did it on the side for me. He’s a Ford guy, I saw in his garage a 62’ 63’ 64’ ford. Did they have a 427 in 63? One of them had that engine. One had a 428. His daily driver is a 63 f 100. He really liked my truck, I guess he hadn’t seen many y blocks. See you guys Friday.

My pan would come off easily enough, it’s just my schedule in the next 4 weeks is busy. I found a garage that will do it for me, sounds like he’s a Ford guy. I don’t know if they’ll find anything during my stress test, my remaining brother is in the hospital with a leg infection. Just too much going on right now.

I need to find a neoprene seal and 239 side seals for the mechanic.

Dennis, does your truck have a different front suspension/steering system?  On my truck, pulling the oil pan is a piece of cake.  Don't have to pull the engine.  Maybe you don't have to pull the engine.

I talked to my machinist today to see who he could recommend without pulling the engine. I’d have to pull the engine to do it and I just don’t have time in the next month. I have a stress test this Friday, so I’m hoping everything goes well.
