Oh, the results
. Times were not what we expected, but there is several reasons to that. yfreak57 drove 16.658 / 129.96 km/h as a best with Hollow Machine and my best was 16.919 with 114.91 km/h. LordMrFord did not attend due hangover
.
The engine works great and has a lot's of power with only 0.5 bar boost pressure. Runs almost perfectly at all rpm situations and driving conditions. Well, of course it can do much better with wide band lambda and some more tuning. But when it starts to really pull, the rear tires loose the grip immediately. At my best run at quarter I lost the grip at half way and I had to lift and I drove all the way at first gear. The transmission has seen it's best days and won't take the second gear very often. Sometimes it does, but most of the time it don't. It slips badly. Maybe the increased power does that? Well, it slipped last year too, so we have to change it to something more race oriented version.
At Jyrkis best run it changed the second gear just before the finishing line and that explains that 15 km/h difference at speed traps.
The track was also a bit slippery and our narrow tyres didn't get the best possible grip. And the 60 ft times were at 2.585 to 2.910 range due the two speed tranny and the 2.75 gears.
On race circuit we did some extremely dangerous curves. LordMrFord spun twice, me once and yfreak 57 spun also atleast once. I'll put some videos about those to youtube later
.
It's quite a feeling when your helmet starts to lift your head upwards at about 120 km/h speed and when the tranny suddenly takes the second gear when the boost pressures are at the peak level. And then the rearend starts to pull to the left or right when tires loose the grip
.
Drive safe!
