How is a marine gasket different from a car or truck gasket ? The Price. I cannot see what could be different, the block has to be the same, Oil pump intake same. Only thing I can think of may be the drain plug gasket

The timing cover is thinner so the timing cover portion of the gasket is different.

I think you could cut down a stock gasket to work. Couple of clean cuts back a few inches from the timing cover join and some gasket sealer should do the job.

I do as Chuck mentions. I simply cut out two sections of a stock oil pan gasket at the timing cover seam and punch in new holes where necessary for the marine cover. A dab of RTV at where the gasket cuts join together seals the deal.
