Plan is to just keep it up and leave it as it is. Good running flathead, 95% original paint, bone stock, about 80k or so miles and untouched. The interior is almost perfect original as well. Long story to this one as it is an amazing survivor. No turn signals, mechanical brakes, one tail light, etc. Easily handles 55-60MPH on the highway. Still has the paper sticker on the inside passenger windshield used for gas rationing during WWII. It does have new Coker original style tires. Not sure about my other cars (57 BIrd/65 Galaxie), may put one or both up for sale, but have to think about it for awhile.

Bought from a couple in Independence, Ca. on the eastern side of the Sierras, near Bishop, Ca. They have had it for awhile and found it in a garage in Bullhead City, AZ. Took them 10 years to finally purchase it from the owners family. Stored in a dark garage for decades with a full hand made knitted car cover and the same to protect the interior.They did the brakes, belts, hoses, fluids,minor repairs, etc., but left it as they found it.

I think you hit the mother lode on that slant back. That is truly a once in a lifetime deal and I'm glad you are going to keep it original. I've been across the country a time or two with a bunch of old flat heads and they make the journey with little to no problems. You can still drive them anywhere. I'm going to the Hot Rod Hill Climb in Georgetown, Colorado August 15-16. Traveling with the Rolling Bones Hot Rod Shop with their coupes and flat heads. Looks like great fun. Always wanted a flathead. This one is original to the car and appears likely it has never been apart. Runs pretty good, no smoke, no overheating so far.. The previous owner went through the cooling system and upgraded the water pumps. He also did the brakes and the rear shoes had Ford script linings. That kind of tour looks fun but I would need to gain some significant confidence in the 78 year old motor before attempting that. Spent an hour or two driving around the local area out of traffic and got used to the mechanical braking today. I think they will be fine. Just took some time to get used to them.
