Both Blue Thunder and John Mummert make aluminum single four barrel intakes for the Y. MSD makes an electronic distributor for the Y engines.

Here’s a link that gives specific details for the MSD distributor.

Mike;

In addition to what other's have said, you can also get a 57 and later Y-Block distributor and install a Pertronix electronic ignition. I did that upgrade 6 years ago for my 56 Customline and haven't had any issues. If you want to spend a bit more dollars, you can get the MSD 8383 Pro Billet distributor. For my most recent engine build I went with that and I must say it was a very easy set-up. Even re-curving the distributor by changing the springs and bushings was pretty straight forward and MSD provides good instructions. Good Luck!
