I just got word from John's wife that he is doing fine, but in quite a bit of pain. Told her that we'd all continue to pray, and worry.

Thanks for the update Frank. We've all been wanting to hear some good news. Anyone who has had broken ribs can imagine what his pain is like - and many times worse. I hope he is able to recover quickly now - being back to full flow is a big advantage. A friend of mine had four bypasses - many years ago now - and he awakened several hours later in the hospital recovery room, naked and lying on a table, hooked up to every device imaginable. He hurt like hell and was scared to move. Out of the corner of his eye he could see a monitor that seemed to be showing his vitals as traces on a screen. This then became an overwhelming curiosity to see how he was doing, so eventually he slowly shifted a bit to get another angle. Got stuck, had to persist a bit despite the pains ........ Parted a cable connection and his lines went flat! Right before his eyes! Ayaaaaaa! Al told me it took a serious shot of "something" (probably morphine) to get him calmed back down again. Talk about a pressure test on the new plumbing.........I think they are a bit better at handling this today and keep the equipment out of sight.

I'm dead and I don't know it. when they took my Gall bladder out last year, I woke up in intensive care and it didn't hurt............yet. I was really worried that something was wrong, then it started.
