Good news. The block is ok and it is now bored out and stress honed to take those SRP pistons inside of it. Not a scratch in the walls! Also the crank is ok and it is now milled to accept Chevy sized Callies con rods. Camshaft bearings are changed to new ones and things will go back together as soon as the rotating assembly is balanced .

Running again after being dead for awhile! Some small water leaks to fix, but we still have hope to race next weekend. Chevy pistons and connecting rods didn't make it run any worse than it did with fifty year old stock parts .

Great going guys! You’ve kept downtime to a minimum and you’re back up and running. Give ‘em fits during that next test session.

Ted, we have just booked to dyno at Santala Racing for thursday evening and now we hope to see some REAL numbers . Let's hope the engine won't break at the dyno, cause we should race at saturday qualifications at the second round of the Finnish Championships. So, we are bit busy at the moment. I now have to figure out how we get that intercooler modified to fit the small dyno room .

Hehe!! Commentators had no clue, what to say. - "That's very special, very special. We have seen everything in today... Papers says, that is '23 Ford, but it is what is...it is clear that there is turbos... special, special. There is everything to everybody in this class...etc" Seppo called. The Rapture throwed waters after 1/8 and Jyrki saw nothing so no luck so far.

Jep, just another bad race day. Rain, waiting and another engine broke. This time it seems to be little easier than last time. New push rods in and new glues to head gaskets. Might be something else too, but let's hope not . Waters came out of the reservoir canister, so there must be a leak in head gaskets and most of the new Elgin push rods are broken too from the rocker end of the rods. Might have gone bad in the dyno also, but we don't know for sure as we had no time to open the valve covers afer the dyno and before the first run. And it run ok with those broken rods. Valve clearances were of course little too big after they broke, but... Here is the one and only run of this weekend... Sorry about a bad audio quality of GoPro in car camera. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FH_oMy59RQo&feature=youtu.be

Hollow Head (7/1/2012) ....and most of the new Elgin push rods are broken too from the rocker end of the rods. Valve clearances were of course little too big after they broke, but...In regards to the pushrods, there’s an issue with many of the replacement pushrods for the Y's having too small a cup on the top of the pushrod which keeps the rocker adjuster from seating adequately in the pushrod. The cups end up splitting out as a result. Using some machinist dye or other marker in the pushrod cup while fitting the adjuster to it will help to determine if there is a sizing issue.
