Seppo: Did you run the engine through a few heat/cool cycles and retorque the heads before hitting it with boost? You should do that. No we didn't and yes we should!!!

I’m assuming you are running posted heads? Definitely switch the head bolts to a true grade eight bolt though. You might consider upgrading to a ½” head bolt also so that the head bolt torque values can be increased. Keep at it as you’ll eventually get the ‘new car’ bugs worked out.

You can get the bolts from Ted or John Mummert. Studs are available also. Ted do we, or could we get a picture article on posting the heads. Feistritzer uses bolts inserted thru the top and pushing against the deck on non-posted heads. But I doubt if he's ever photographed the process.

As a cure for the problem, we are just going to add more fuel to the fire! We just bought 75 lbs/hr injectors and those should be enough up to 1000 hp . Won't go to lean anymore... If that was a part of the problem. At the dyno years ago and until now we had 30 lbs/hr injectors and those were at the limit in that last 330 Hp/ 630 Nm pull with 5300 rpm limit. So, now that we had more revs and more boost, that may well have been one reason to that gasket failure. And that slight overheating and loose bolts were possibly other reasons. So, we will put it back again and readjust the shifter cable to get that trans brake working properly and then we just wait for the next outing. Or, we tear it all apart and start to make it to last longer with H- profile cons and forged pistons, main girdle and billet steel main caps and ARPs everywhere .

Try these two links for information regarding adding posts to heads that do not have them. If you already have posted heads, then just disregard this. http://www.y-blocksforever.com/forums/Topic47592-3-1.aspx http://www.y-blocksforever.com/forums/Topic33877-3-1.aspx
