Will Lincoln Versailles front spindles fit the 57 Tbird without reaming? I am using 15 inch aftermarket wheels so caliper fit should be okay. I also came across the bushings used for Granada/Monarch spindles for Mustang/Cougar. Don't know if they will fit our range of Ford/Tbirds.

I have been told that reaming is not required on the Versailles spindles.

That is correct Paul. The Versailles used a bigger lower ball joint than the Granada even though the spindle itself is identical to the Granada one.No reaming required.

To add to what these guys are saying - none of the funny little bushing inserts you mentioned will be required either - the ball joint pin is a direct fit into the lower mount of the Lincoln steering knuckle.

The kits listed on ebay would also work on your Mercury.I dont know that its a bad price giving you everything including spindles ready to install.I think one listing claims they are "New' spindles as opposed to used but could I be wrong about that. You are correct about "no pull"to the sides.I can pretty well take my hands(loosely of course)off the wheel and hit the brakes hard and not see the wheel move at all.
