While the Versailles spindles are the prize - many disc brake knuckles will do the job - however, they will require the re-reaming of the lower ball joint taper to the "big pin" size. You can use the Ford Mustang spindles '71 to '73 - Mercury Comet - Ford Maverick - the V8 small cars after '71 with five on 4-1/2 lug hubs are the ones that do the job. The differences between them turns out to be the taper size used on the tie rod ends. They gradually work up to the size used on the Granada and Monarch.
The lathe center on the backside of the upright lines up with the wheel center - and the center you find on the big cars - a Galaxie for instance - has that center down on the ball joint lug which results in holding the car up higher off the ground. The small car knuckle lowers the car - moves the caliper mounting position away from the wheel rim.
