I got some pictures today of the new headers for Y-Block cars. These are Tri-Y style and were built around a 1955 so should fit most applications. This set has 1-1/2" primaries but can be built with 1-5/8" . Secondary tube is 2". These headers will be sent to Ted for dyno testing.

MC, yes the manufacturer wants to sell them in quantities of 10 sets at a time. And yes, there is definitely life east of PCH!

Are these headers made by Jerry Jardine? I used his headers back in the 60's and they were some of the best made in the business. I read somewhere that he was making a set of headers for the 50's Y block cars. If this is Jardine headers, you can expect some quality work.

Genuinerod, see the other thread, John mentions they are made by jerry Jardine. http://www.y-blocksforever.com/forums/Topic55785-4-4.aspxJohn, Sorry for all the questions but I am very interested in Your (Jardine's?) Headers. Do you know how close they come to the Master Cylinder (Not me, but the one on the car...). The reason I ask in I have a power brake booster on mine and it looks like there may be some interference.

Thanks for setting me straight MC. I first went to Jerry Jardine in 1965 with a new GTO at his shop in Garden Grove. Headers never leaked and worked great. Later had a custom set made by his people for my 57 Ford. Wish I still had that car. I now have a 57 T Bird that I have had for 43 years. Starting to build my third engine. It will be a 338 using John's stroker kit. All I need is the heads from John (it has been a 13 months now) hint, hint.

Final price is not clear at this point. The headers will come to me painted in high heat paint. Some of you will want them coated so I need to get a price for that too. As for clearance issues on modified cars, it is too soon to tell. Actually, you have more information than I do. You have the car to look at and the pictures of the headers. There are many types of brake boosters. I don't know if Jerry took power brakes into consideration. As far as tube diameter goes, I think that 1-5/8" primaries will be larger enough for most applications.

Thank's John, yeah kinda dumb question on my part. Thought you just might know off hand how close they are to the stock M/C then I could guestimate how close it would be to my booster (which is 9" in diameter but raised ~5" from stock position).
