175 in a 3 window coupe, that must be an outstanding ride. Can you tell us what you taped up to help the speed?

In an attempt to get more air to the carb, Keith fully opened up the grill and that slowed the car down significantly.  Went the other direction and completely sealed off the grill and went 173+ mph.  After that, duct tape went over all the hood seams and some of the suspension parts to get some better aerodynamics.  Here’s a picture of the Rolling Bones skull on the grill that also got the tape treatment.

Keith has some ideas on getting fresh air to the carb but that comes later as there will be some fabrication involved.

Prior to Keith running the 175mph number, three other drivers (including myself) did run the car down the course for licensing.  I can say with authority that the car is rock steady at 158 mph as that’s where I held it for two miles at a steady state speed.

Thank you Keith for giving me the opportunity to drive.  It’s a blast.

What is the address for the Rolling Bones website? Should bring them bones up to Loring if you really want to go fast without the salty sandy spinning of the tires.

Wow what a trip!!!

Just got home today about 3 pm (8/22),unloaded the coupe & of course had to start it up & blast it down the road before parking it in the shop.

I think we made some believers in the Y block,@ Bonneville.I have to say thanks again to Ted Eaton for the 343 Y, that most people thought was a BBC,under the hood.

Also to John Mummert for the dedication, time & expense it took to develope the heads,& intake.

Tim it was good to see you again,Nice meeting you Charlie, good luck to both of you with your trucks.

I am hoping that Loring has more events,I know there is one in Sept, but after being gone for 16 days, its not possible for me to get up there.

Thanks to all for the nice words.                                     Keith

its not how fast you go, its how you go fast.

I want to echo speedpro56, GREAT JOB!!!

I stopped by your pit area a couple of times but each time you were out running the wheels off that y block powered coupe, again congrats!!!

We broke and left Tuesday.

Hmmmmm, sounds like Ted may be getting salt fever.

Mike, it was great to meet you.  Thanks for the pin, I will wear it proudly.

Keith and Ted, congratulations on a job well done.  It is such a great feeling to set a goal and have to work hard to accomplish it and you guys were so successful.  It was nice to meet you too Keith, only one thing, you, Ted and Tim now have higher licenses than me..........if all goes well, I plan to do something about that!!!
