Bill thanks to you and Reed for the offer, but my surgery is schduled for 31 Aug. Believe me, no one is more disappointed than I am about this, but I fill that it is something that I need to take care of ASAP. On a side note, the car is cleaned up and ready to go, looks like we will make the ODDR show and drags, 23/24 Sep in Panama City, FL. I received the offical confirmation last week. We will be in parking spot 42 at the show, 120 pre 1972 drag cars, should be quite a show and it is free admission to the public. You and Reed need to drive down to the beach that weekend.

OK, we finally made it to the track today for a couple easy runs!

Footbrake launch at about 2000 rpm and running a 6000 chip, best 1/8 time was 8.34 @ 82 mph. I ran it through the 1/4 one time, but let off early, 13.27 @ 98 mph. Short shifted on this run, not really paying much attention to anything but keeping it going strate. Best RT was .146 with a 1.91 60' time. The brakes were a little spongie so I was letting off early and did not try a launch off the trans brake. Just trying to get the fill of a track for the first time in over 40 years. The car drove good after upping the rear pressure up to 16lbs, first runs were at 10 lbs and it was a little dartie on the top end. All and all, well pleased for first outting, I think mid 7's are doable.

Thanks John, but Frank can drive his on the street and fill it up at the gas station. I could have probable made a couple more runs, but I spent too much time showing off the car and engine. It gathered a crowd and I had to explan over and over what the engine was, where the parts came from and who Ted Eaton is. A few old timers where there that knew about Y blocks, but said they had never seen one that looked like or sounded like this one. I can't wait until the 23rd of this month when we take it to Panama City for the ODRR show.
