Just a quick hello from a newbie from Australia. Great site ! My current ride is '32 Tudor powered by a triple carbed 272

backed up with a FMX auto. Great fun to drive & creates lots of interest when people realise what's in it . Y-Blocks down here were the back bone of hot rodding during the 60's & 70's and are now seeing a resurgence in popularity.

Will post somes pics as soon as I can.

Welcome. I've always been impressed with the work that our friends from down under do.

I'm curious to know the details of your FMX conversion; flywheel, converter, etc.

Best regards,

Welcome to the site . What part of the country do you live ??? Always good to have another Aussie  on the team. At one stage we were almost being out numbered by the Canadians ???

Can you imagine that ?? An Aussie being beaten by a Canuck ?? Almost unthinkable ??

Welcome. I've always been impressed with the work that our friends from down under do.

Paul , my conversion was fairly simple in the end .A friend and I found a rotted out '56 Customline and removed its trans, convertor, drive plate and bellhousing. Two top mount holes have to be drilled & tapped into the bellhousing to accept the FMX (lower ones are the same ). I re-rivited the spring steel dampeners to the 1/4" thick drive plate as they had come loose.I then had a local Auto-Trans  repairer modify the '56 convertor by cutting off the original pump drive and fitting an FMX one. This was the only problem I had with the conversion as he didn't get the length right first time. I then had them go through the trans as it needed new clutch pack etc. Trans was a unknown "swap meet special" , but had a shift kit fitted sometime during its life and surprises people when they first ride in the car ( have later found out that the trans was originally behind a hot 351c ). The last mod was converting a Mopar ( cause I liked the look of the shift lever ) shifter to work like a Mustang shifter , but mounts direct to the trans.   Thanks for your interest -  David
