Hi all, It’s time I dispose of parts I accumulated for my Parklane build but didn’t end up using. I have four heads and would appreciate any suggestions on pricing - I know what I have in them but really don’t know what they are worth. I’m happy to entertain offers, of course. I live in Minneapolis. I have a 113 head, a G head, and then a matching set of G heads. The matched set was redone years ago and I bought them that way with the intention of using them. I ended up buying an unmolested set from Jerry Christenson that he ported for me, so all of these heads were put on the shelf. Someone will have to remind me how to check if the heads are posted - I can’t seem to find it on the forum. The single 113:

Starting with your 113 head, turn it deck-side up. Look and feel with your finger inside the larger coolant passages between the intake ports and combustion chambers. Once you've found the 113 posts, look for the posts in the same locations on the G heads. If I recall, there are only 2 posts per head if the head is posted. All 113 heads are posted. G heads that were manufactured before May, 1957 probably are not posted. My 57 heads were cast in April, 1957, and they are not posted?
Value? You will have better luck selling them locally. As you know, they are heavy. Not many people will be willing to pay the cost of shipping, unless you are giving them away, and they are known to be serviceable.

Curious: What’s with the black marks on the valves? BTW: I built/installed an ‘unmolested’ (few thousands only clean-up mill) set of unposted ‘G’ heads on my back-up motor. Though the static CR is rather high, I anticipate no issues for a mostly original driver car. But still, wondering why Ford decided posting was needed in ‘57?

My unposted G heads started to weep water around the passages at 10.4:1 compression ratio. The firedeck was collapsing at that compression due to no posts. Joe-JDC
Dots look like cylinder numbers. I would have just written the number instead of all the dots. ------

Joe, how much were your non-posted heads milled? I was wondering about the dots on the valves, too. That's a new one for me.

It seems like I remember ~.032" or so to get them down to 69ccs after porting the combustion chambers. Joe-JDC

I know .025 is the maximum recommended for non-posted heads, but .032 doesn't sound extreme. However, I don't think many of use have a 10.5 static compression ratio. Do you remember what your dynamic ratio was?
