That must be a Lincoln or Merc air cleaner, the snorkle looks larger then a 57 ford. My 57 air filer is 9" OD and is 3 1/2" tall.

I haven't found any that were the correct height that the OD would fit. The ones with the right OD or an OD that fit were always too short except this Desoto filter.

Have You tried to find 2 stacked together that would work similar to the Ones that Ted came up with?

What the OP has is a 56 FORD 292/312 that he used a 57 ECZ-B 4V intake with a 57 FORD 4100 carb.

He found the later style ACL (58-64) on EvilBay and bought for appearance reasons. The ACL is of unknown application as there is no Stamping I.D.

The FORD MPC FINAL ISSUE (49/59 ) (60/64) has had much info deleted and the replacement filter for this particular ACL included as there is no size match dimensions still listed.

It could also be from a FORD, MERC, EDSEL or LINC and those descriptions will be in separate cataloging.

I have a Ford Ready Reference Catalog from 1966 and there isn't anything in it. I thought it would have all the Ford products listed but it seems to only have some Mercury applications. There's nothing in it with dimensions I need.
I've taken the ACL to NAPA to see what they could match and they had nothing other than the Desoto filter. They cross referenced all their catalogs that included Edsel, Lincoln and Mercury from the 50's and 60's. I'm stumped as well as everyone who has looked.
I haven't tried the two filter route.

If You go to the Manufacturers Website- Fram, Wix, etc they have Charts showing Dimensions of all their Air Filters. I checked out the Wix Site. A Wix 42051 is the same Measurements as you have given other than the Hieght is about 1 inch less. Even the Top and bottom OD Dimensions are the same as You have given. The Air Filter on Mine was shorter than I needed. This was before Ted gave the #'s for the Stack up Filters. Been on mine for several Years. I picked up a piece of Foam from the local Home Improvement Centre. Used for stuffing Cracks etc.Comes in different Diameters. I used I think  2 Inch to make a Seal as shown in my Pictures. It will compress to make a nice tight Seal. Been on there for Years. No Cracks or shrinkage etc in all that Time. This might work for You if the Air Filter is right except for Height. There was not One Wix Filter the exact Dimensions You gave.http://forums.y-blocksforever.com/uploads/images/1185b49d-aefd-431f-8506-3f5d.jpghttp://forums.y-blocksforever.com/uploads/images/c2fba1b0-deb6-4897-a904-affb.jpg

Yes. Oldcarmark, I also checked the Wix site and cross referenced lots of online filter sites and came with up nothing.
Right now I'm having trouble getting the Autolite carb working right. I probably need to get it rebuilt. I'm almost ready to go back to the teapot. But It needs to rebuilt too. I can at least go back to the stock ACL and not have to micky-mouse anything. I'll probably have to spend about the same money on either carb. I still have the original distributor with a new dual diaphragm advance.
I could probably sell the 57 carb, manifold and ACL to pay for a good rebuild on the teapot.

If You are changing the Carb to the Autolite You must change the Distributor to newer 57 and later dual Advance Distributor. The Loadomatic only works with the Teapot. You may have trouble finding a Distributor as has been discussed in a prior Post. The rebuilts available are not correct Length. My personal Choice for a Carb is the Holley 8007-0 390 cfm Model. I have use 3 on 3 different installs and the stock Air cleaner fits the Holley with minimal Modification.. Unless You can come up with a Distributor U might as well switch it back to the Teapot until another Time. I would not give up on doing this Swap yet. Hold onto the Manifold until You find a Distributor. I have done 3 of these and the improvement in Drive ability is amazing..

I have a 57 or later distributor in it now. I guess I made it sound that I still was using the original distributor but I saved it and I can go back to it.

OK That's good. Hard to find right now. If You have already changed the Manifold to 57 Style I would think about it before going back to the old setup. Either redo the Autolite,, have it redone, or switch to a Holley 390 and sell the Autolite.. Its worth the effort to stay with the later Setup especially if the Teapot needs to be redone also. Just my Opinon from Experience.

Nothing speaks more than experience. The Autolite works OK but has a tendency to idle high. It seems like the throttle shaft sticks a little and doesn't return all the way to the end. The choke coil also seems weak and doesn't seem to either open or close the choke plate. It also has a slight flat spot / sputter when trying to accelerate, more so when cold. I replaced the pump diaphragm and it squirts nicely down the bores.
