Currently I'm running a Moto Rad 170 degree  (part # 321-70) in  my Tbird.  I run a NAPA # 6 (170 deg.) in my 54 Ford 312.  No problems.

I'm running a 190° now. Just can't seem to find one that will last. Thanks for the recommendation. I'll look at them.

I installed a Murray Temp Control (part # 3478) in my Y block.  This thermostat is for a 318 MOPAR and is rated at 180 degrees.  I needed this temperature to have the EFI work properly.  A part search on one of the online companies like Rock Auto or Summit you should be able to find a lower temperature unit for the 318 MOPAR.

What brand of thermostat are have you had good luck with? I've been through 2 in a few months. Both have broke and luckily stuck open. The first was a Shaw and the second was a high flow Mallory,if I'm remembering correctly.
