I've wondered if the drivers side outlet could be cut and angled more towards the block to clear the steering box. Never really checked it out but as I remember there is a little room there.
Y's guys rule! Looking for McCullouch VS57 brackets and parts. Also looking for 28 Chrysler series 72 parts. And early Hemi parts.

Well a bit of an update to my upside down ram exhaust manifold idea. Yes, they WILL interfere with the spark plugs as suggested. Also, the angle of the output of the manifold will put the piping very close or on the valve cover. A bit of creative welding and pipe work may get away from it tho. But, if there’s a will there’s a way. A 1” spacer may resolve the issue. Just, is it worth it ???? Thanks for all the help. Kev

No problem. Well 3 inches will hit the steering gear. So I'm back to building headers it looks like..
Thanks..

Kev; I measure the header to be about 3" out from the head on the driver's side rear exhaust port. Sorry it took so long to get back to you, the car was up on my lift. Rono

I like that Rono. Clean and very doable around the motor mount. Do you remember how far off the head they are on the left rear port?

Unfortunately, the Y-Blk rams horns were intended for truck use only. They don't fit as is in any mid 50s Ford car chassis. I've thought in the past that someone should try to reconfigure the casting so that the outlet angle & flange setup could be made to fit in cars, because in exhaust system testing the rams horns were a good performers..
