Another way to do it: Get a longer bolt and draw it in enough so that you can use the regular bolt to finish it. Just don't bottom out the longer bolt in the crank.

Lisle 53460 should work well. It comes with a spacer which should work well with the relatively deep damper that a y block has. http://www.lislecorp.com/divisions/products/?product=623The main thing with the installer is that it has a 9/16-18 adapter. Many do not.

There is a similar Tool to reinstall by threading into the threads where You removed the retaining Bolt from.Make sure it is threaded in enough that You don't pull the Threads out of the Crankshaft before You start to pull the Damper on.

You will need a tool to re-install the Damper too. Does your local Auto Parts Store have a Loan-a-Tool program? DO NOT use a Hammer to re-install.

If it's a pulley on a Tbird the steering wheel type puller will not work
