Remove the center bolt. If any accessory pulley is installed, remove that. Use a damper puller to pull the damper. To install, you need a damper installer. In case you are wondering, a hammer is not an installer.
To remove the bolt
If equipped with a manual transmission, put it in gear, put on the brake, chock the wheels and use a breaker bar or long handled 1/2" drive ratchet.
If auto transmission, use the breaker bar and get in a position where you can pull on it hard and release repeatedly. That usually works it off. Don't use an impact wrench.
If on an engine stand, use a big screw driver to wedge into the teeth of the flywheel and lock it in place or thread in 2 flywheel bolts and use a long wrench to hold the crank from turning or get a proper flywheel turning tool to hold the flywheel in place.
