My 55 Fairlane 272 is leaking oil out the blow by outlet, when I posted before someone suggested changing the filter because It was likely stopped up. I did that and the problem still persists. Is there a way around this system and use a pcv system? I've seen posts on this topic before but couldn't find them. Thanks for your help.

At the top of the list for leaking road draft tubes is the gasket being installed upside down. The gasket bolt holes have a slight offset in relation to the center hole and sealing is a problem if not orientated correctly. Second on the list would be the oil drain back hole in the road draft tube being plugged up. Third on the list is the road draft tube flange where the gasket resides being bent or warped. Beyond all that, PCV systems eliminate the need for road draft tubes altogether. Here are some past threads on the subject. Performing a search will bring up a multitude of others. Blocking off the road draft tube Crankcase evacuation Finned valley pan and PCV valve installation Installation of PCV valve into the top of the block Installation of PCV valve at top and rear of block 2 Modifying valve covers for PCV valve installation Valley pan PCV valve installation Valve cover baffle for PCV valve Why a PCV valve or system? Why the PCV must be at the top
