I use CopperCoat on both the timing cover and water pump gaskets. Thats interesting, I have never tried it on other gaskets, just use it on head gaskets, I must try it.

Me too. As Ranchero, I never thought of copper coat on anything other than the water passage holes on a head gasket.. Always learning. Thanks

Like Ted, I too have used Coppercoat for more than 60 years on the gaskets; for the wet bolts either pipe dope or #2 permatex have worked well, as does silicone,all if properly applied. WLJ
