Since this started with exhaust, my 56 came with a 57+ left side exhaust header and a 55-56 round top right. I bought a 57 flattop right and wondered if anything was different with the down/head pipe so it would be an exact fit. The 55/56 has the flapper valve. Thanx.

Mid 50s custom, right on!! Same look I will be going for. As I said, enjoy it. Look forward to periodic updates.

I'm in Port Arthur Texas. We're about 100 miles straight east of Houston. Thank you all for the compliments. It's a pretty nice car overall but it does have a few typical rust issues. Just going to take it one step a time. Shooting for mild 50's custom.

I think I figured out how to post them from my phone. I'm not the most tech savvy person.

Thank you all for the advice. The guy I bought my car from hooked me up with a pair of manifolds after I told him what I was wanting to do and that I was looking at a set on ebay. He just happened to have a set! I'll try and see about posting pics soon.

Once you decide what you are going to do to your engine there are several members here that can recommend a cam. John Mummert has a lot of information and choices on his web page at: http://www.ford-y-block.com/

Y's guys rule!
Looking for McCullouch VS57 brackets and parts. Also looking for 28 Chrysler series 72 parts. And early Hemi parts.

30coup, my cam selection was sort of made for me. It was in the engine when I purchased it. It was a project build that got put on a back burner. It is a 312 sleeved down to a,,,,3.75 (292?) bore. It is 304 c.i. Got a GREAT deal on it!! All new internals, never been run. As for the cam, I may change it out later, but for now, it's staying in.
