There are two styles of factory duals, 55-56 and '57-up(flat tops). Both types dump to the rear of the engine but the '57s flow a little better. Both are much better than the single exhaust with crossover pipe. One solution is to eliminate the crossover, cap your passenger side manifold at the front and add a rear dump manifold for the drivers side. If you want to go that way, I have a single driver's side rear dump for the 55-56 that I would sell. If you're interested, email me me at roadqwesty914@comcast.net. Good luck with your 292, you're going to love it.

Stuey, those ebay ones you posted are for sure the ones i'd need? i'd rather replace both manifolds and have a matching set than just the drivers side and cap off the front of the passenger side.

Rowen, does your car have an automatic, or stick. just wondering how your cam will work with an automatic. If you have an automatic, are you changing to a different ( high stall ) torque converter? Just trying to get a feel for how that cam may work with an automatic trans. .

30coup, at the moment the car is stock. 272 2bbl, fordo, 6v +ground. I will be retiring in about 1 1/2 yrs and that's when I will be hotrodin her. She will will have a T5. No, you are correct, the fordo will not work with the engine goin in her. I am and will be on a pretty strict budget for the build so I am collecting parts and pieces as I can find and afford them. Thanks, I was not sure of the spec's on your cam. I am also gathering parts for my 312 build, and have not made a cam selection.

30coup, my cam selection was sort of made for me. It was in the engine when I purchased it. It was a project build that got put on a back burner. It is a 312 sleeved down to a,,,,3.75 (292?) bore. It is 304 c.i. Got a GREAT deal on it!! All new internals, never been run. As for the cam, I may change it out later, but for now, it's staying in. Rowen

Once you decide what you are going to do to your engine there are several members here that can recommend a cam. John Mummert has a lot of information and choices on his web page at: http://www.ford-y-block.com/
Y's guys rule! Looking for McCullouch VS57 brackets and parts. Also looking for 28 Chrysler series 72 parts. And early Hemi parts.

Thank you all for the advice. The guy I bought my car from hooked me up with a pair of manifolds after I told him what I was wanting to do and that I was looking at a set on ebay. He just happened to have a set! I'll try and see about posting pics soon.
