You can change the low and second ratios in the Aod by using the parts from an 4R70W. Wish it would work in an FMX!

Hi Moon
I'm just doing a bit of research now, regarding trans ratios & rear axle ratios with the intent to make some changes to the car later.
I'm well aware of the cable adjustment
Thanks
Jim

If you are not familiar with the AOD initial cable adjustment is critical. Do a search for TV oe TVI cable adjustments. There are several online. If the pressures are not set correctly the AOD can burn up in a few blocks. Chuck

Y's guys rule!
Looking for McCullouch VS57 brackets and parts. Also looking for 28 Chrysler series 72 parts. And early Hemi parts.

They are all about the same.  Look for one 1988 and newer if you can.  You might want to just buy a whole car, that way you get all the parts.  (ie lincoln mark VII)

First       2.400
Second  1.467
Third      1.000
Fourth    0.667

I'm wondering if any of you fellows know what the transmission gear
ratios are in a Ford AOD?
Are they all the same? Different years, different ratios?
Thanks
Jim
