I currently have a 272, but I'm not sure how complete it is. It has been sitting for a long time outside, so I'm not even sure if it can be rebuilt at this point. I'm not sure what heads I have yet. I think I have a couple 4v manifolds. I'd love to spring for aluminum heads & manifold, but we'll see what the budget allows for. Maybe after I get it running with what I already have.

I don't know how often these motors come up for sale locally, but I'm guessing not that often. What's a fair value for 292s and 312s, shortblocks, longblocks, complete setups? I don't have many connections for old school parts and all that, and probably not much to barter with either, unfortunately. My experience in Augusta, GA is that folks are pretty proud of their scrap metal more often than not.

56 Ford 312 Y block engine for sale. It's complete minus the 4bbl carb. have the starter, generator, fan etc...Crank has been turned, new bearings (crank and bearings not installed). Heads have been done by the previous owner. Motor was running when pulled from a 56 Ford. $1200.

1962 Ford 292 Engine,1 flatomatic Bell Housing flywheel & torque converter,Rebuilt C4 transmission $1,000.00 for all OBO.

I may also give this guy a call and see what he has and if he's willing to part with a motor. I'd LOVE to pick up a second truck, but it's just not an option right now!
