Marv my spare CEBY block has TW 3553 tamped n the left front of the block. Any idea what that means? Ditto on he missing letters.[/quote]

Mark:

I have no information n the code TW. Was this engine in a pickup or an industrial engine as I don't have much info on the truck stuff.

314:
The best info I have on 312 engines in 56 Ford/Meteor Canada vehicles from people who worked at Oakville when these cars were built is there were 24 Ford/Meteor vehicles with 312 engines, majority were put into station wagons.

I have seen 2 cars with 312 engines, both have the complete history from new. One is very high serial numbered Crown. They are there, just the Canadian dataplate does not identify them like the USA cars with the "P" code in the serial number.

Marve, reading these posts i see a similar thing emergeing, forget the 312 engs, but the Canadian eng numbers, mentioned. e,g TW 3553, I am v/familar with our Australian numbers and with canadian export theme. i assume for our Aust engines they added " A " to the prefixs, e,g ATW 3553. Examples here are ASQ ***** is 55, ATQ ***** is 56, ATW ***** is 57, AWQ***** 58, All 272,s, Do vary but Its the addition of the A i am pointing out. The number is on front of Left cylinder bank and block behind starter . LON has a geat list of these numbers which i cant find.
