I got a phone call the other day from a guy who has a 63 F100 2wd. He said he talked to someone and heard I had wrecked mine. Well he called and said he took it apart to restore and has the frame sand blasted and painted and the rest needs to be painted and put together. Well I did not realize that when he said it is taken apart he meant if is completely disassembled. As in disassembled!!!!!! So I went and looked at it and was not sure if I wanted to go through all that work again but the truck was in incredible shape as in no rust or dents. Plus the hood is in great shape. He also has a Ford reman 292. I decided to take the plunge and assemble a pickup. The thing I like about this project is I can build it the way I want. I am looking at Mustang II front ends and 4 linke rear coil spring kit for my 9in rear diff. Does anynone have any suggestions or comments on were to get the front end parts, I found a couple of places that have the stuff for these old fords. I am planning on lowering the truck at least 2in. It came with a 8.8in limited slip rear diff but I am going to install the 9in built rear diff from the truck I wrecked. We are planning on supercharging this truck to mix it up instead of the turbos. Want to give it the sweet supercharger wine. Hear are some pics of the work I have ahead of me. This will be a few year project but will be fun sharing it with you guys.

Anyone know anything about this block? I am assuming it is a 59 block, I was hoping it would be a late model block like my twin turboed one but don't think it is.

And of course it was pulled home with old faithful. This twin turbo 292 is always ready for an ass woopen or a hell of a load it just keeps pulling.

The block is a 1959-60 casting. I believe those blocks have the deeper drilled mains. Some were 312s from Merc's..

Just a couple thoughts. My street rod friends that have them say the MII based front ends tend to be real short on travel, especially with coil overs. Plenty strong with aftermarket parts, though. The suppliers may not mention that unless you ask. I have not used one, so that's second hand.

Art Morrison makes a variety on rear suspension types for the rear, and I'm very pleased the the triangulated 4 bar under my 'bird. His shop is just down the road from me, and they are very good people to work with.

Heidts makes an IFS set-up for 53-64 Ford Trucks. It is their Superide II which is different than the Mustang II IFS. I put a Superide II in my 37 coupe and I like the front mounted R&P steering. Check it out at www.heidts.com

Does anyone know what type of rear diff that truck has. It's not a 9in but it is a limited slip and he said he rebuilt it. I turned it and it is a limited slip I was just wondering if they are strong or not.

The guys at FTE have been using late model, as in this century, Ford Crown Vic front clips, at least on the '57-'60's. Apparently it's the correct width. Not sure if that had been changed by the time yours was built.
