From now on I will look at every B type intake to see if it has the dual bolt patterns.

the carb has linc. style choke cover and it's hard to read but it looks like SMF-9 and LIST-1211 on the back of the carb. I've never heard of those markings on a 4000 carb. mabey it's a special nascar carb? it would be nice to see a closer pic. of the back of the carb. also it looks like the exhaust tube comes off at a different angle on the choke side.

say John, take a closer look at the rear venturies, they look really big to me but I haven't looked at a linc. carb. in quite some time.

Wayne, the venturi look about right for the Lincoln and F carbs. They are about as big as they can go without breaking into the fuel inlet passage. That happened to Pegleg at Columbus, the wall was so thin it broke through and flooded the engine so bad it wouldn't run.

The heat riser tube is capped off. Shouldn't it go through a grommet into the area next to choke plates. At least it does on my original F code carb.
