For those who may not know, Mick had his first stroke Monday September 2nd, just after returning from (and winning on Sunday) the Y-Block shootout. It affected his speech and control of his right side. Started physio and was making progress, then the second stroke hit on the 10th. This one hit him much harder. Speech very garbled, right side worse, eyes closed most of the time. Yesterday morning he had a third...this one affecting his left side. Prognosis is not very good.
I had taken in copies of all the best wishes that were posted. I know he was smiling when I read them to him. Thanks guys, for that.

Sorry to hear of his trouble. I met him at Columbus two years ago and enjoyed talking to him. He has done a beautiful job with that '57 Bird. Was excited by the news of a fellow Canadian doing well at this years shootout. Please wish him good luck with his situation, Barry from Winnipeg.

Frank: Went to see Mick today. Had a great visit. His son was there with an iPad so Mick was able to see Charlies video of him in the winners circle getting his trophy. Not a dry eye in that room! Anyway, Mick is in the hospital in Windsor. Not much can be done medically, so he will soon be sent to rehab. His wife Carol is doing simply amazing, but is even less computer savvy than Mick. Good 'ol mail service still works...even up here in cold country.

Mick got some pictures sent from Jerry yesterday...the doctor's news was not so great, but those pictures made up for it. He has the best attitude for his challenges...a positive one!
