Here's the latest on my rehab following my quadruple bypass surgery May 22. I have been doing the rehab exercise program at the hospital, but the greatest exercise happened last night, 11 1/2 weeks after my surgery. I took the race car to the track for the first time this season. I was like a kid with a new Christmas toy! Last fall, in cool weather, I was turning 12.0s. I got two time trial runs, both 12.34 in hot humid weather. First round I dialled 12.34 and ran 12.26 in a double breakout run, I broke out the least. Second round I dialled 12.26, cut a bad light, and broke out again with a 12.17. All four runs netted 109 to 110 mph. The car's alright, but the driver needs more practice. I feel great, and in 11 more days I will be cleared to do anything I want. I guess I jumped the gun on that a little.
