Nice 57. One of my best fried had one that color back in the early '60's. It was originaly a 312 auto. He put a mild cam in it and a 3 speed all syncro out of a Galaxie. With a 3.89 grear it ran pretty good. My 58 292 could not keep up with it. My next car, 57 Bird 312 that I still have did better.

Hi Bob, If that's the '57 from Minot, ND it's a 292 with Overdrive and the emblems are just stick on plastic and should be easy to remove. Nice score on a Thunder Road classic!

The Ford letters up front are mounted thru drilled holes. The nose piece is removable so it could be removed from the car, redrilled and repainted black without hurting anything else. I'd guess Mac's or Dennis Carpenter will have Reproduction letters and the retaining clips. Nice ride, but get it out of the Wisconsin snow!!

Now all you have to do is head for Columbus, Ohio Labor day weekend and show off your new car while you meet the Y's Guys. Its a great weekend gathering with drags a small flea market and a car show. Chuck PS: try your wifes hair dryer on the stick on emblems.
Y's guys rule! Looking for McCullouch VS57 brackets and parts. Also looking for 28 Chrysler series 72 parts. And early Hemi parts.

Thanks Master Cylinder,
Not real sure how there attached yet. The car should arrive sometime Saturday late. Can't wait to check her out and I'm sure I'll find a few things that may surprise me. I know with you guy's on this forum and the 57 forever forum I'll have no problem with whatever comes up. These two forums are the reason we've been looking for a 57.
Thanks again

Congratulations! An a nice looking 57 it is. What are the details? Engine, interior etc. My first Y was a 57 convertible and I've always been a fan. Don't worry about the emblems, they are all being reproduced. You can find a lot of them with decent quality at Dennis Carpenters. Chuck

Bob nice looking car. Too bad about the badges. How are those Ford script badges mounted. Hope they didn't drill holes. At least they didn't shave the door handles like they did on my '55 RanchWagon (among other things). I had to locate where they were welded closed and open them back up. Fun working on a 55+ year old car, isn't it? Guess this post doesn't belong in the 'Classifieds' anymore . You and Da Boss enjoy your '57.
