Selling Cobra due to health reasons and I'm looking for a 57 Ford Fairlane 500 or at least something with a Y-Block. The guy's on this site and the 57Forever site really have me going now. The more I learn about these car's/engines the more I'd think I would really like one. I have M.S and just had a resent relapes so my legs don't move real well and I really need a automatic. That's why the Cobra has to go.

The Cobra was built by Classic Roadsters LTD out of fargo north dakota and is 6'' longer for taller people. I bought the car a few years ago that needed to be finished up. The guy that had it did a ok job but it could have been even better with a little more detail work. It's a driver and not a show car. All though It's won a few awards at car shows. It has a built 302 with 350hp, tremec 5 speed, 8.8 rearend with a mustang 2 frontend. It' has all new interior, dual roll bars and new stereo/speakers. ( you can't really hear it with the car running)

We would take a partial trade plus cash if theres something we might like.( I have to include the wife/boss) If anyone is interested let me know and I'll try to send a few photo's.

Bob: Welcome to the site. Sorry to hear of your health problems. As far as trying to buy a Y-Block car is concerned, you've may have come to the right place, and this site is undoubtedly the best source for Y-blk related help. However, you likely should also advertize the replica Cobra elsewhere, as this site, due to it's orientation & limited coverage, is unlikely to result in a sale for it. Good luck..

Thanks Paul, I have it for sale in a few locations. I guess or I just thought maybe since it's a ford and this site and 57Forever, sure seem to be the heart of the ford community. At least the older fords. Everyone really cares about there fords and others on this site. At least thats the impression I'm getting as a newbie.

I also put it here in case someone had a 57 there thinking about letting go or maybe would like a go cart with a V8 in it.

Hi Guy's, Well we Finally sold the Cobra and took in a real nice 57 Ford Fairlane 500 as a partial trade.

The car looks real nice and should be delivered sometime this weekend. We can't wait to take her for a drive. I'm already ordering parts for it. The last guy that had it took off the correct emblems when he had it painted. Now I'm going to look for new ones and some how find out the exact location to mount them again. Other than that it's pretty stock and has a 292 or a 312 but who knows until I pull the pan someday. See photo's attached.....

Bob nice looking car. Too bad about the badges. How are those Ford script badges mounted. Hope they didn't drill holes.

At least they didn't shave the door handles like they did on my '55 RanchWagon (among other things). I had to locate where they were welded closed and open them back up.

Fun working on a 55+ year old car, isn't it?

Congratulations! An a nice looking 57 it is. What are the details? Engine, interior etc. My first Y was a 57 convertible and I've always been a fan. Don't worry about the emblems, they are all being reproduced. You can find a lot of them with decent quality at Dennis Carpenters. Chuck

The Ford letters up front are mounted thru drilled holes. The nose piece is removable so it could be removed from the car, redrilled and repainted black without hurting anything else. I'd guess Mac's or Dennis Carpenter will have Reproduction letters and the retaining clips. Nice ride, but get it out of the Wisconsin snow!!
