Richard:

I have a case, casting # T85C-1A.  Has the small (pre '65) Ford/ Mercury bolt pattern.  Surface rust from sitting in unheated barn.  $35 plus shipping from Indiana.

I'll get it weighed and get shipping cost.  UPS ground OK?  Probably 3-4 days to CA.  This is the main case only, not tail housing.

Richard:

I went to UPS website for a rate quote, I couldn't get a quote for anything but air freight.  I doubt you want to spend $200 to ship, so here's what I'll do.  I'll take it to UPS and ship it, then I'll know the cost and let you know.  If that won't work for you, I'll take it there and have them weigh it and tell me the cost, and we can go from there.  Or you can tell me what you consider the limit for shipping and I can either ship it or take it back home.  I've gotten quotes online before, I don't know what happened to their site.

Hey John,

Just pack it up and ship it UPS Ground, let me the total and I will pop a check in the mail. Its no hurry so when ever convient for you. I broke 2/3's of the lower bolt hole corner off mine, but will JB weld the corner back on and use a big washer to use as is. Damn thing fell out when I was putting it back in. I figure next time I replace the clutch I can use the spare case.

The whole problem was related to the gear for the governor. I didn't realize it was a different cut than the old R10, the helicals are cut to the right on the R11 governor and the R10 governor gear goes to left.

Thanks,

Richard Phillips

John,

Did you try FedEx? They seem more cooperative in shipping odd items. Chuck
