pintoplumber (3/18/2012) 239 has a straight arm. If you google airtex 4070, you can see a picture of it .Dennis it looks like the 239, straight arm pump and marv, the 256 has bent arm like 272-312, therefore later pump should do 256 engine? if i assume correctly. thank you all for your input. regards bill.

pintoplumber (3/17/2012) If it's like the 239, an Airtex 4070 is what I use.Dennis, marv, thanks, i,m trying to ascertain if the 239 was same as 256 pump, and hence different to 272/292/312/, i am trying to find out for person over here. i think the 239 pump has straight arm? but not too sure. regards bill.

Just a note regarding the CEBY blocks. I have one of those and it came in my '56 Mercury M100. According to John Mummert's chart it is a cast in Canada Export block. 256-272. Thanks

Bill: Does the pump look like this. According to my Carter pump book the 55 F600 with a 256 engine takes a M3150 pump which is the HD model for the Carter M3528 The 279 engine took a M3022 pump . marv

a fellow gave me one of these blocks about 15 years ago.untill then i thought 55 trucks were 272.these were CEBY blocks.they were the only true truck blocks, that is the only ones that were different than car blocks.there was a ceby car block as well but it didnt have special mains just heavy trucks.the caps were 1/8 inch higher with 3 in bolts.i could see no difference in the fuel pump.these blocks were used to make 272s as well.
