Had visit along with a few other hotrods recently and is keen y blocker that has been working on y block rod for many years, he has one of the 3 rare Cragar blower intakes over here and was elated to have got his car recently completed and registered. Hope i,m not stealing his thunder but here is sneak shot of the engine. Good job scotty.

Bill, Is there any way you could get some photos of that intake. I've heard about them for years but never actually seen one.

Aussie Bill what part of Australia are you from? I spent 7 or 8 months down there in 1969/70. A friend and I toured around the East coast from Noosa Heads down to Melbourne in a 1961 Vauxhall Victor. Something in the steering broke loose near Bendigo. We found a guy with a repair shop out in the boonies. I think it was near the black stump. He had the car for a day and the bill was $21. I ended up working at Monash University for a few months. I knew this girl in Springvale (near Melbourne) who had some friends who were into cars and those ocean going race boats. In March 1970 we all went to a car race outside of Melbourne and saw the legendary Stormin Norman Beechy and his bright yellow Holden Monaro GT. He was up against a former Canadian, named Allan Moffat. He had a 68 Mustang Boss 302. I think it was sponsored by Coca Cola. At that race I found out you can win a race if you have better brakes. The Mustang would jump ahead of the Holden at the corners because Moffat could wait longer before he hit the binders. I remember it like it was yesterday.
Cheers, Mark

Cheers, MarkMark, I,m in NSW, sydney, yes those days of beechey, bob jane and indeed our hero allan moffat who went on to be a ford legend with many wins for ford including the famous Bathurst races in 71.72.73 falcons. And yes i too can remember things from 50 yrs ago in accurate detail including those races but am struggling with memory of current times, P.S sounds like you were chasing the surf and the chicks???? nice to recount your visit. regards bill.
