I remember watching cars like the Cortina's and Super 7's race while I was stationed in England. I had no car then and wow did they run fast. Years later while stationed in Germany I had a 1969 Fairlane Cobra 428SCJ wow did those same cars look slow! Chuck Tongue

You would have noticed this car passing every thing in front of it.

That's because the Australian XW/XY Ford Falcon GTHO was the fastest 4 door production car in the world in 1970/71.

Admittedly it had a USA 351 Windsor engine.

I watched the film setting on my couch. Found myself slightly leaning into the turns and kept trying to pull my foot off of the gas! Really an excellent perspective. Must have been an inverted start to put the Mustang back with the washing machine motors. Chuck

I believe 1969 XW Falcon GT had  351 Windsors & late model XW (1970 ) had Cleveland V8's .Not sure what motor was in the car in the video ,but he sure had to pedal to get past the old Customline ? Considering  there is 14 years difference between both cars ,that old Y -Block wasn't about to move over  and let him by .

Yes lon, you,ve got the engine /yr combination right, i worked for ford dealers from 69-73 and was fortunate to work on and drive these among other new models, twin cam escorts, gt capri.s,2v falcons etc. i owned and drag raced ph111 XY falcon , ran 12.00.  They were without doubt the best ford made here apart from customlines.SmileTongueTongue
