Picked up my pistons today. This is a 4 cc dome. Piston, pin and locks weigh 642 grams. Seems darn light for a 3.86 piston!

You might get by with the McCullouch/Paxton unit as they were available from the Ford/Mercury dealers. Also, as I recall, it was the European market that did the early work on superchargers anyway? Chuck
Y's guys rule! Looking for McCullouch VS57 brackets and parts. Also looking for 28 Chrysler series 72 parts. And early Hemi parts.

Chuck, Mummert's got the timing cover tooling, he's workin' on it. I still have the water pump but I seriously doubt that I'll ever run more. It's complicated enough that I don't make anything on them.

It was a new, balanced, 40 over 272 with the blower cam etc.. Lost oil pressure at Columbus after about 500 miles of travel. Number 2 main bearing was badly worn and the two adjacent rods had a lot of heat damage. My shop thought the main bearings may not have been properly fitted. In another post it was mentioned that a similar problem was being blamed on vibrations from a slipped damper. Damage was also to the number 2 main bearing. See that thread at: http://www.y-blocksforever.com/forums/Topic63384-3-1.aspx Once I tore it down and found the problems I had the block remachined and bored to 292 specs (I had a set of new pistons on hand). Replaced the two heat damaged rods and then the whole assembly was balanced again to compensate for the change of pistons and rods. I hope to have it back in my 56 Vicky soon. Chuck

Chuck, your engine is impressive. What happened on the oil pressure issue? Was the engine tired, or much worse, was it new?

Frank, Any chance you will do another run of covers and water pumps someday? Sure would love to have some. Chuck
