Run premium fuel. That should keep you away from any alcohol related problems. Stay hydrated and good luck! I've noticed here in Michigan, Premium fuel (94 octane) can, by law, contain up to 10% ethanol- I think the no alcohol in premium fuel can only be stated on a state by state basis. / Duck

300 miles for the route I took. Normally, it's 275 miles with some trecherous terrain that I chose to avoid with this car; that I normally do with my other car. There is a better than even chance I can make the Columbus event. I too look forward to meeting friends from this forum.

Glad you made it ok and I hope you enjoyed the trip. Now you just have to drive to Columbus for the Labor day meet and we can meet in person. Chuck in NH

I MADE IT!The only not too catastrophic event was the chrome ring that adorns my power brake pedal fell off. The car ran great, none of the Cokers fell off, the hard top stayed with the car, and all went extremely well. It was a bit warm but with all vents and windows open and at speed it was bearable. Thanks for all your help. That's what made the trip go as well as it did.

paul2748 (7/30/2011) I drove my 56 TBird from NJ to Oregon and back. Great trip, two quarts of oil and gas at 4.00 bucks a gallon.. You will never know what the USA is like unless you go by car. Magnificent!!!!
Good luck pops.
Points, condenser, fuel pump, fan belts. Radiator hoses would be a good idea too. Duct tape. Tools to change any of these.Wow, I've dreamed about a trip like that for so long, I've stopped. Kool!
