Here is one to consider, if you want to go the easy way. Only sad thing is that these guys have nothing for Y either. But, with little innovation, it could be done using some of this stuff too. http://www.massflowefi.com/ Be it naturally inhaling or boosted, they have the solution . Not cheap, though...

I got Innovate LC-1 Wideband Lambda and map tuning with that is easy like hell. Proper tuning with Narrow band was half summer job. Next I try to get knocking sensor to create better ignition map but I dont know Y-Block's knocking frequency. I have to go with try-and-fail-system or try to record that pinging. Some calculator says that 3.8" bore have 6 kHz, but I dont know for sure. http://www.viatrack.ca/ Hollow Head (7/18/2011)
Our 8-point EFI turbo Y-block has cost us under 500 euros when counting 8 30 lbs/hr injectors, two 60 millimeter Ford Mustang throttle bodys, TPS sensor, intake air temperature sensor and Megasquirt controller and a Bosch wide band lambda sensor. And homemade intakes and exhausts. OK, it's not bolt on but... By the way... my Injection project is costing me hell lot of more than 500 Euros, but I got sensors, injectors, coils, throttle bodies, controllers and other stuff a lot in my garage closet. ...and still my project is not ended...

I have the ability to do timing control with the gen 7 computer but I am working thrrough this one step at a time. Just need to lock the mechanical advance in the T'bird distributor. Will probably get to it later this season. First I have to solve my problem with my valve adjustment screws. Put in everything new in the valve train with this rebuild but I think the metallurgy on the Falcon adjusters is way too soft and they are only good so far for 100 miles before they lose height and get real flat.. Just replaced them this weekend with really good originals and we'll see what happens. Then on to the wide band O2 sensor kit and further fuel tuning. After these little projects on to computer control of timing. MIKE

homemade intakes and exhausts. OK, it's not bolt on but... It's more like Weld-on type injection... Famdoc! Are your thinking to get EDIS or something other spark control someday?

So I started with a 3/4 inch aluminum plate. Cut it in 1/2. I used a carb gasket as a template and drilled it for the carb base. I then used the gasket for the junk yard g.m throttle bodies and measured carefully so that the positioning would allow the base of the twin four manifold to line up. I used some 3/16" stainless steel rod to make the linkage and some smallrod ends. The rest was to add a bushing to the back of the driver's head for the engine coolant sensor and I moved the temp sensor for the guage to the right head as it is smaller and will clear the distributor. I then tracked down an Accel Gen 7 computer, and igniton amplifier. Triggered by a pertronix unit in the distributor. Soldered up a harness for the 2 throttle bodies (also available from Accel). Mounted an O2 sensor into the right exhaust front pipe. I then had some help programming and was driving. You can now find th e gen 7 DFIs used could save you some money. Good Luck! MIKE

Wow, Mike very cool! I'd be interested in a parts list and a little description on the work involved. I've had my eye on the EZ EFI from F.A.S.T. as an easy way to get EFI on any vehicle and I've thought about how cool it would be to put it on a y-block from a reliability and throttle response point of view. They sell a complete kit with fuel pump etc for just over $2,000.

Way to go! I had also great torque improvement on low with single TBI unit.. Idle speed was 300 to 350 RPM.

So a few years ago I got interested in up-dating my E-equiped 312. I was tired of the leaks and the poor low end performance that I had had for the 30+ years I had been fooling with those Holley teapots. So I decided to try to fuel inject it. I originally dealt with a company customefis.com who ended up taking me for $2000 bucks. I would advise anone heree to avoid them like the plague. I made adapters to instal 2 GM Rochester TBI units, built some linkage. and then bought and ACCEL DFI unit which I modified to the twin throttle body set up. With some help from my local speed shop and the folks at ACCEL I was able to get it running well now. I am only controlling fues so far no timing. The car has so much low end power now that it is a joy to drive inspite of the 2.73 rear. It gets about 19 mpg in my driving which includes highway at 80mph and around town. At cruise nights no one even knows it's modified. Added a chromed alternator as a generator won't work with the computer or put out enough amperage to deal with the elctric fuel pump etc. I am attempting to attach some pictures and hope you enjoy.
