The 4 Bbl on a 272 may indicate a Power Pak engine, which may have the higher compression heads etc.

Any chance someone out there might be able to put me onto a third row seat for 56 Country Sedan? I got another bub brewing, so family requires more leg room in our cruiser! Any ideas would be a true blessing....Thanks

Thanks longisland.  After 5 hours of work today, the rear window is up, tailgate down, spare tire and wheel out.

It was getting to one of those desperation points.  Working conditions sucked.  Cramped, hot, hard to see.  But no saws or chisels were used.

The one key wouldnt turn the rear lock.  Inside window release wouldnt do anything either.  It moved when pushed but that was all.  Took off the rear handle/lock/release assembly and tried to rotate the 3/16 in. square hole in window bottom with screwdriver.  It wouldnt budge.  Made a 3/16 sq. key to fit it, after 30-60 minutes it rotated, but still unable to get release.  From the inside I jambed a screwdriver into one of the wheel teeth and gave it a couple good hits.  That did it, 5 hours later.

Oh, and it is a 272.  Interesting that Ford put the same Holley 4V 4000, same list number, on a 272 and 292.

Greg, there is a 57-60 half-ton rolling frame in Central Point, OR, which is next to Medford.

Hey Mike, we need more pictures! It appears you have the 8 passenger Country Sedan model. Is the interior all intact? What kind of shape is the tailgate in? I assume you saw the ebay listing for a '55 wagon that's linked in the classifieds here. It has some nice detail shots.

Hi Greg.  Good you reminded me on the '57.  The same woman I bought the '55 from has a 61-64 short narrow bed pickup which I think is for sale.  I know that isnt what you want, but someone probably does.  There also is an early Falcon under her shed.  Couldnt tell if it was a Ranchero or not.  Her mother of 80 plus years was there to hand me the title on the '55.  She has apparently more things at her residence of 48 years.  I'll be going over there soon.

Mark, all of the interior knobs, gauges, radio, etc. are present and intact.  All but two pieces of stainless trim excellent, with the two being fair.  Engine turns over.  All of the upholstery, panels, and headliner need redone.  Tailgate is very good with one old bondo repair, not too big or deep.  Still dont have the magic to get the tailgate open.  The glove box didnt have any hidden treasure inside Crying .

Pulled the 4000 carb and it is a list 1074-1 ECK 9510 T.  So no Tbird engine, but it still looks like a 292 is sitting there.

Marc, yes it does BigGrin. Hey Marc, the two shafts on the 2140 you brought down are now free moving!

Nice work getting that freed up. Looks like that carb ended up in the right hands; it sure wasn't doing me any good.

Really enjoyed meeting you and seeing your place last week.
