Rod swapped some springs for lighter ones this helped 3&7 but 1&5 are still dirty.

Thanks for the engine picture.  Looks good.  I still think you have a problem with the front carb.  Do the power valve pistons work freely up and down?  I'm assuming at this point you've checked the base of the carb and the adapter itself for any vacuum leaks.  If all else fails, then I would swap the carbs so the front one is on the rear.  If the problem goes to cylinders 3 & 7, then you know it’s definitely the carb.

Hey Oggie,   good to see you finally got it on the road!!!     Those old Y blocks sure are good in a hot rod arent they!
