She started up tonight at about 8:30.  It is sweet!  Absolutely worth the many, many hours of work!

The Y sounds absolutely wicked with the X-pipe and glass packs!  The torque is amazing.  I'd like to get it on a chassis dyno to see what I have.  3rd gear cruising down the road and it will take off!

Thanks to all who offered advice and insight relating to this project.

I'll see if I can get a hold of a decent sound recorder.  I would like to get some video.  I don't want to buy a camcorder just for that though.

It will have to wait for a week or so.  I have to get new rocker arms.  The old ones aren't holding the adjustment very well.  I've put about 30 miles on it.  The plugs are bone white.  So it looks like I will be able to find some more power as I tune it.  It hasn't done any knocking though.  Timing is at about 10 initial and 35 total.

I made a video, primarily to record the sound, while it was warming up this morning.

The glass packs have been swapped for Hooker Aero Chamber mufflers but it still sounds good!

Couldn't rev it - Too early in the morning.

Sure! There are no machining secrets or anything in this motor. I did check clearances and I know where everything is.

It is a 318 stroker kit from Mummert. The heads are street ported G's with 1.6:1 Dove roller rockers. Compression is some where between 9.4 and 9.6. The cam has .295 lift, 226@.050, 274 advertised, 112 lobe separation and installed about 2.5 degrees retarded. The headers are Red's stubbies, 1 1/2" primaries and 2.5" collector. The exhaust is 2.5" from the headers to the outlets which dump just in front of the axle. The carb is an Edelbrock 600 with a K&N filter, housing, and stub stack. The intake is Blue Thunder. I think that is all of the important specs.

The master cylinder is a corvette unit.  I think 1968ish.  I made a mounting plate to mount it.  It's about the same as the stock ford plate. The bolt spacing is a little wider on the chevy mc.

Hey charlie, it looks great! I'll bet it sounds as sweet as it looks. I'm looking forward to seeing it run at the shootout. Keep us all posted.
