I'm in need of a y-block steady rest (front motor mount) for a 1955 Ford sedan.  Located in Birmingham, AL

Thanks

I have a 1956 Ford Sedan, and I don't use the steady rest. It is overkill. It will work fine without it, unless your looking to be a 100 point car. Then you will need the lower dust shields that go in front of the engine below the rad hose and generator.

As Jim said most take it off and leave it off.You will need to remove the damper to install it.There is likely one on Ebay if you search Y-block for instance.
