In the early 60's Ford had a show group that was purporting the "Total Performance" image.  I remember that Ak Miller was a part of this group, I met him in 1962 or 63 at a big car show in Chicago's McCormick Place.  Our car club had a display next to Fords, I had my 62 Galaxie 500 XL 406 convert in our display.  I visited with Ak while he was looking at my car and while looking at the Ford display.  I always thought Ford did a great job in the area of total performance.  Ford, starting in 1960, included bigger HD brakes, suspension and other components with their high performance packages.  I  believe they included some upgraded or HD components in the police package before 1960 too.

I believe John got it right, remembering the 40's 50's and 60's are easy, but last week..yikes..

My Grand Children (many) refer to when exchanges on their nets, with silver hairs, SENIOR MOMENTS..

That is a good looking 57 rancero..

Brother and I own/operate 1957 Ford Fairlane 312/4x2 and two 1963 Falcons 302 rollers carburated 600cfm, FE427 sitting in shed..

I'll miss you buddy, Lynne and yourself made the event all that much more enjoyable. As for being lucky, I would have to say that you are the lucky one. I don't think your pride can take anymore punishment! Tongue

Lon, Lon, you'll never learn. At least if I put it somewhere I'll retain it. It seems that things go in one of your ears and out the other. Now I know what that whistleing was as I passed you on the track, it was the wind going through your ears! Wink  (hehehe) Just kidding buddy, and as for sucking up to John, I know that will not help me, hmmmm, maybe I can switch all his ignition wires Whistling

Hey Rob ,I

If you get to know  a 1/4 of what John knows ??? Boy ,that would be way too much information for you to store ??? Where would you put it ???? I could suggest a few places ,but that wouldn't be nice to use those words on this forum ? Don't go trying to "butter up " John before Columbus . Good luck this year ,your going to need it ???

Regards Lon

Went to the post office one day for my wife. I had a stack of letters and packages all with individual notes attached. Postal employee commented on the notes. I said it's how my wife makes sure I get it right. In fact, I further said, when I get back to the car theres a note on the steering wheel that says "now go home".  Sad but true. Now where did I leave the parts for that scrub?w00t

You guys are too kind.  I seem to have a penchant for remembering things from 40 or 50 years ago, but don't ask me anything about last week!
