Looks like you fit like a glove in that thing Tongue It's funny that you mentioned the knife edgeing of the crank.. I was just out in my shop today staring at my crank and wondering if it would be worth the effort doing something like that.. seems like alot of ponies can be freed from a Y just by lightening up the rotating assembly in certain areas..

Be careful about taking weight away, I was able to do it because of the lighter pistons, rods and shorter stroke (my bob weight was about 250g lighter than a normal Y), if you are running stock internals you need the weights to keep it balanced so don't just start cutting away at them.

Ted, I got the gaskets today.  Thanks.
Tim.  Your head gaskets must have outrun the snow storm that arrived here.  Glad you got them okay.  Just give a shout if there’s anything else I can help with from my end.  Great progress on your ride as I know from experience how much time must be spent to make things happen.

Sno storm in your neck of the woods Ted? We haven't got crap for snow this year up in Maine, its all staying south of us, today was raining. This has been the warmest February I can remember. They had to cancel a fishing derby last weekend because 7 vehicles went through the ice. Funny thisg is a game wargden went through a day or so before so why didn't they cancel it before letting the people on the ice.

Want to by a snowmobile Ted? plenty of good deals here.

I think with all the Ys coming back, when they take off they are turning the globe under them so the earth is not positioned as it was a few years ago creating all this weird weather.

Central Texas did get a blanket of snow here and lasted for about a day.  Not enough for a snow mobile though.  Snow in this part of the country and especially snow that sticks is rare.  Here’s a couple of pictures.

I've heard that if you mow your yard and find a car, you might be a redneck. If the snow melts and you find a car, does that make you a redneck?Smile

Here's a shot after we cleaned up after last snow. If you look closely there is the roofs of 2 cars in the driveway. Two 20" snows less than a week apart.
