Brought him home tonight after a stop at Charlies to show off the almost finished product. (had to say him if I'm gonna go with "Elwood" Tongue)  It's put away for the night but everyone wanted to try it on for size first. Wink  Tomorrow the finish work begins.

Tim, I have seen a good number of great engineered race cars, and yours is right up there at the top.  Here are some of the pictures I took today.

Charlie, Tim, That photo there of both of your pickups and the FED all in the same shot is awesome.. Put that in black and white and most people would have a hard time telling it's a newer picture.. I'm a total sucker for nostalgia shots like that...

Tim, that is a good looking rig. Looks just like some of the cars I drooled over in the mag's as a teenage farm boy. Sure hope that you car make it to Columbus next year. Good luck on your shake down runs and let your aunt make a pass while you are at it.

Wow!.....with 17 pages on this topic alone, this is flat out AWESOME! Tongue Good looking rig there Tim. So, is Elwood the official name and have you thought about paint/graphic design?

Alan, that picture looks great!  Thanks!

Daniel, the name "Elwood" was thrown out there as a joke but it is kinda growing on me Tongue I don't think there is a law that says the name has to have Y in it, it might be a bit more subtle to leave it out and let people think.  I do get a kick out of the guys who can't figure out what engine that is. Wink  As for paint, that work starts today.  Black frame, red body panels with black lettering outlined by white.  It will also carry the "Burns Bros. Racing" logo since I owe so much to Charlie for getting me back to thinking about racing, I like the name too.

Thanks Glen, that is what I wanted to hear.  I know the cage throws off the early look but I had to do it for cert. and it is good for my head too.

More pix to come, I may post some tonight on the painting. Smile

Keep the picture handy. You could convince the $rub guys you've had the whole rig since the 60's. Talk about a blast from the past! Make sure to get white painters pants and vintage hot-rod T shirts for the "crew". Chuck in NH

Nice work Tim,

It's good to know my money for the engine is being spent wisely!!  If you ever race it up here in North CA I would love to come see you race.  FYI...Redding, CA has California's longest continuously open race track/drag strip.  An old "Y" at California's oldest track..sounds like a good match to me.

Anyway great work.
