Gave me chills...that thing spools up instantly! The big bore/short stroke sounds like it was the ticket!

Can't wait to see it run! Sounds wicked!

Pro Comp  Bought on eBay for $99 + shipping. one of the cheeper parts I had to buy.  It was for a 460 Ford so we had to fab. the ends to fit, not too hard the spacing was just about right.

tim, it has been a while since I posted anything, and probably seems like a while longer since I have done anything Y related. I have almost finished my new 24x40 garage. Going to do the electric in about 2 weeks. The electric company has to put in a new pole to run service. Good thing is, it won't cost me a dime!!! I have been busy in the off hours (do I have any off hours?) hauling all of my cars and parts and tools and extra Y's into the garage. Barely walk from end to end now! w00t

Anyway, that Y sounds SCHWEEEEEEEET!! I can't wait to get my blower mounted. I did finish my teapot carb, got some of the plumbing I need, but I have to pull the old cam and put in a blower cam with new lifters - I do want it to sound right and FEEL right. These old Y's thump pretty good with the open exhaust.

Should have seen my 7 year old son, Ethan, the other day. He helped me haul the cars and parts to the garage. He got to looking at the 55 convertible again and his exact words were, "Hey dad, ya know what, this convertible don't look all that bad..."

Boy's a chip off the old block! Y block that is! Cool

Got to be exciting to get that FED operational ... We all can't wait!

Tim, Great progress on the chassis!. I've built a few off road cars and I know how long that kind of work can take. You've come a long way in a short amount of time. Looks great.

The engine sounds like it should do the job, no problem. A white knucle ride the first time down the trackw00t

The work for today was slow but some progress was made.  Gas pedal is done, battery is mounted and the seat has been started.  The seat was a real pain in the..... pun intended, it just takes time to fit.

Tim, Why are you installing a lead acid battery?? An agm would save space, weight, be installed at any angle, and add a few amps to your project.  I love these things, I have two in motorcycles and  one is similare in size and wieght to the original but has enough cold cranking amps to start a diesel landcruiser. No worries about leaks. They like higher voltages found in many newer applications and are less susceptible to sulphating  when discharged.

Mate love your project keep up the good work.
