Re read these posts, going back to the Dwane Eddy/Rebel Rouser stuff.. How many would know who the Sax player was? I think it was the late King Curtis. He played on several similar rock recordings in the 50s. He's been gone a long time, & if I remember, he was murdered in a bar room brawl...

I went down to the newly reopened Atmore Dragway for t&t this afternoon. I only got to make a couple of passes, still have not cracked into the sevens, but oh so close. First run was 8.09 with a .13 rt,2nd was 8.05 with a .55 rt. The track is a brand new concrete surface and is still pretty slick but is smooth as glass. When it gets a little rubber on it is going to be a super fast 1/8 mile track. For those not familiar with the track, it is about 50 miles north of Mobile just off I 65. I have a couple of videos on my wife's facebook page if I can figure out how to post a link.

Congratulations Glen. 8.0 seconds in the 1/8 is not that easy to do. Breaking into the 7s will be even better! Stay after it, you'll get to the 7s The Falcon looks good and runs good too.

Thanks John, I know the car will run 7.80, I'm just slipping up on it. I made a tire change before going to Atmore just to see if a shorter tire would help. We will make a chassis adjustment before we go back. I am still footbraking and running the 6000 chip with a 5000 rpm shift point. The way I figure it when I get all I can out of this setup, I'll start with the trans brake and bump the rpm's up to 6200. Ted assures me that it will take it. I just have to get where I can cut a consistant light for now.

Ok,finally got to make a few 1/4 mile passes tonight. Best time was a 12.756 with a .054 R/T. 1/8th mile was 8.09 which is right on what I have been running at the 1/8th mile tracks. I am still footbraking so I fill sure it will run quicker if I ever decide to use the transbrake. See ya'll in Columbus next week!

Glen, trans brake is the way to go. Jyrki took three 0.001 lamps during the weekend at our last race. When you get the tree in your mind, it just improves your lamps and also 60 ft times . When you have the trans brake button down, you don't need to focus on tach and revs, just focus at the lights going down and then slip your finger and go for it...

Thanks Charles and Tim, really looking forward to seeing everyone again. The racing is just a added bonus, the real fun is meeting new people and talking to old friends.
